Rotaflo Exhaust Products produce a range of mufflers and resonators designed in Adelaide, South Australia specifically for all Mazda rotary motor vehicles.
Whether you have a naturally aspirated engine or a turbo engine, a standard engine or a highly modified ported engine, Rotaflo has a muffler/resonator combination for your car that offers you effective sound control and an awesome note unrivelled in any other muffler available today!
Our durability and quality of exhaust products are due to many factors including;
- 1.6mm steel construction
- Combination of stainless steel and glass packing
- Hand built manufacture
- Good sound control and deep note
Ordinary replacement mufflers don’t stand a chance against the extreme temperatures and pounding exhaust gas pulsation generated by the rotary engine. Many of these replacement mufflers will quickly burn up the packing material and self-destruct under these harsh conditions.

MAZDA RX2
Mazda Rx2 Historic race car
Features twin primary extractors collecting at rear axle into Rotaflo Exhaust RFRP 300 re-packable rear muffler.
Muffler is re-packed once per season to ensure sound level under the maximum limit and maximum engine performance.
MAZDA RX3
Mazda Rx3 coupe street car.
Features twin primary system with 2×2″ resonators (RFR RR2), collecting at the rear axle 2.5″ pipe to RFT 250 42L. Now we fit a RFT 250 42M (twin pipe exit at mid height).
Twin tip “high performance” mufflers suitable for the high performance naturally aspirated engines such as peripheral ports, bridge and monster ports & extend port were designed and tested in 2011 and released on the market in early 2012. These mufflers have the unique ability to cost almost no power, over a “full-on” “loud-as” race muffler, but reduces noise levels to acceptable street car standards. AMAZING!
MAZDA RX4
MAZDA RX7 S1-3
pictures and details still coming
MAZDA RX7 FC S4-5
More detailed pictures still to come
MAZDA RX7 FD S6-8
Mazda Rx7 FD high performance but “low noise” exhaust system features; Polished stainless steel Extractors, 3″ High flow bullet Catalytic Converter, Rotaflo stainless steel 3″ Resonator over axle into Rotaflo RF 300 rear 3″ rear Muffler.
MAZDA RX8
Mazda Rx8 cat back system utilises all stainless steel piping. Rotaflo Exhaust muffler code is RFS RX8 250. Turbo 3″ versions are also available.
The kit currently includes muffler, flanges, gasket, and tips of your choice, although I have found the tips shown, fit very well. The tail pipes and cat to muffler pipe will need to be made by your exhaust fitter of choice.

Greg Mildren has owned, raced and worked with Mazda Rotaries since the mid 80’s. In that time he has accumulated and forgotton more knowledge about Rotary power than some of his competitors know!
Greg achieved outstanding success circuit racing Mazda Rx4’s and Rx7’s, winning numerous races, championships & lap records. In Rotaflo he is responsible for product development and production, ensuring that you get exceptional quality everytime you buy.

ROTAFLO History
Where the successful exhausts began!
The original Rotaflo muffler concept (similar to RFS 250) was developed in the early 90’s by Graham Pyne (AEC) and Mark Marchesan (Exhaust Technology). It was built to cover the needs that road going Mazda rotaries had created in the market place. Mark remembered “The first muffler sounded like a train crossing”, “it took many mufflers and a lot of development to get it right.”
The first mufflers developed were primarily for naturally aspirated rotary engines in street registered standard and high performance road cars. The great response and popularity across Australia inspired an expanding product range. The original mufflers served as a good platform upon which we have built the products we can offer you today.
Soon after, a re-packable race muffler was born to provide a race muffler for the circuit racing naturally aspirated high power ported rotaries. One of the first users in 1994 was Greg Mildren of Mildren Race Engineering in his Mazda Rx7 Improved Production Car. Greg went on to win many races and set lap records in this car.
Since these early days both design and production techniques have been and continue to be refined to make noise control effective, ensure packing is long lasting and allows easy repacking (race mufflers) when noise levels increase and power drops-off.
It was in the mid 1990’s that the popularity and demand for mufflers suitable for rotary turbo’s became evident. The development of the turbo range of mufflers was undertaken by Mark Marchesan, Shane Knight and Jon Roberts.
The range of mufflers we produce cater for the many different types of turbo rotaries including registered street cars, street drag race cars, standard turbo and high performance mild to wild ported engines.
